At PDC® and AREA®, the health and safety of our employees, customers and communities are the highest priority. As concerns continue to grow with the COVID-19 outbreak, we are committed to this promise. During this time of uncertainty, we are taking guidance for our daily procedures from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), National Waste and Recycling Association, the Solid Waste Association of North America, and other government agencies.
We currently do not expect any changes to your waste collection schedule. In all communities serviced by AREA® bulky-item collection is suspended until further notice. Bulky items such as mattresses and old furniture that can not be containerized will not be collected during this time. This is a precautionary measure aimed at protecting our workforce. All trash should be bagged and/or containerized.
Construction materials continue to be items that are not picked up.
We also ask that you refrain from interacting with any of our drivers and keep all garbage contained in garbage bags, especially bathroom waste. All recycling must be in a cart and/or container for collection, you do not need to bag recyclables – rinse all tubs, jugs, jars, and cans! For further questions, please contact your local office.
