Many of us can recognize the signs of someone having a heart attack and may know how to respond. However, most of us would be unsure how to respond if we saw someone dealing with a mental health crisis or talking about suicide.
Mental Health First Aid teaches how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
We have courses available for 2025!
- Youth MHFA is designed for adults who live or work with youth (ages 10 to 18+);
- Adult MHFA is for any adult who wants to know more about mental illness and how to assist someone who may be developing a mental health problem or may be in crisis; and
- MHFA for Older Adults is for older adults and anyone who lives or cares for older adults.
Did you know that we should be just as mentally sharp at 70 years old as we are at 55 years old? Older adults who appear to be slowing down mentally may be developing a mental health problem or mental illness. Join our October 7th course and learn how you can help.
Courses are just $12 each for individuals who live or work in McLean County! |
